All of that is what I want to represent with each design.
- How did you train?
I have always liked crafts and creativity. I have done cross-stitch, crochet… Then I started making bracelets with natural stones, which I still make.
For professional reasons I went to Barcelona and there I took courses in pattern making, sewing and design. Then I took a specialized course in swimwear.
- What sets your swimsuits apart from other offerings?
On one hand, the materials, because they are made of recycled polyester, and moreover, exclusivity. I make very few units per size. For some models, there is only one or two per size.
- Where can they be found?
On the internet, through macaronesiaswin.com and on social media. I also have an office/showroom in the business incubator of the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce. You can make an appointment and come see the collection.
- How many pieces are in your latest collection? What sells the most?
More than pieces, we are talking about looks, because they are interchangeable. There are some 15. The best-selling items are the trikinis. It is a product that draws a lot of attention, it's different.
- What is the production process like?
I do all my work from the Canary Islands. We have the sustainable company seal. The fabric arrives white and I create the design and choose the prints. Then the textile printing company sublimates the design onto the fabric, which then goes directly to the workshop for cutting.
- What are your future plans??
I would like to expand the brand and have physical stores outside of the Canary Islands as well. In Madrid we currently have a showroom for fashion professionals, near the Congress of Deputies, through Moda Lanzarote.
I also want to launch a line of bags and toiletries bags. Additionally, I would like to expand the men's line, The boys are asking me for shorts and hopefully I can launch them this summer, Technically they are different.
